Robust public involvement ensures project success. For over two decades we have led teams in delivering comprehensive, cutting-edge outreach that results in successful project delivery. From the federal National Environmental Policy Act and Environmental Justice initiatives to working with state and local Departments of Transportation we know the rules, the players, and most importantly how to reach audiences and fuel public engagement.
CASE STUDY
I-290 EISENHOWER EXPRESSWAY
Phase I Study
CLIENT: Illinois Department of Transportation
I-290 was the first multi-modal expressway corridor constructed in the United States, and includes lanes for automobiles and adjacent facilities for passenger and freight rail lines. This Phase I Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is approximately 13 miles and serves over 200,000 users daily.
Images, Inc. lead the public involvement efforts for this designated Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) project. Our proactive public involvement approach assisted in a successful Record of Decision in June 2017. We provided strategic public involvement and technical communication strategies, stakeholder and agency coordination, planning and facilitating a corridor planning group and public meetings, media outreach, noise wall outreach and solicitation, comment management and data gathering, aesthetics workshops, DEIS and FEIS support, graphic design, content writing, branding, website, communication materials, press-releases, and other printed collateral for this complex transportation project.
In addition to the I-290 efforts, we lead the public involvement for the adjoining transit study. The CTA Blue Line Vision Study helped enhanced the planning of the I-290 corridor.
